Greece Yacht Charter Prices 2026: Monthly Guide by Boat Type

Use the ranges below as planning bands, not quotes. A seven-night Greece charter changes with region, yacht age, dates, crew, VAT, fuel, moorings and deposit. Request a live, line-item offer before paying; this guide was checked on 04 September 2026.

The quick budget answer

For a seven-night planning budget, a sailing monohull commonly sits below a comparable catamaran, while a crewed yacht adds skipper or crew, service and a different level of provisioning. The bands in the next table are TrimTeam planning ranges for route conversations, not a promise of availability or a final invoice.

The cheapest-looking offer is not necessarily the cheapest trip. A €6,000 base can become materially higher after skipper, VAT, cleaning, fuel, moorings, provisions, transfers and a refundable deposit are added.

Region changes the price and the route

Saronic Gulf departures from Alimos suit short transfers from Athens and compact island-hopping. Alimos Marina states that it is around 40 minutes from Athens airport and has 1,100 berths, making it a major charter logistics hub. More convenience can mean stronger peak-date demand.

The Ionian, often based from Lefkas, is attractive for shorter passages and sheltered planning; Lefkas Marina lists 620 berths and an airport connection. The Cyclades can reward experienced crews and iconic routes, but a meltemi-sensitive itinerary may need more skipper time and weather flexibility.

What the headline price leaves out

Ask the operator to label every line as included, payable locally, refundable or optional. Typical separate items are skipper or crew, VAT, final cleaning, fuel, water, shore power, marina fees, provisions, transfers, Wi-Fi, water toys and the security deposit. For a crewed yacht, ask whether an APA or onboard-expense budget applies and what is returned.

Greek VAT has a standard rate of 24%, but the applicable treatment depends on the service and contracting structure. Do not add or remove VAT from a quote yourself; ask the contracting party to state the tax treatment in writing.

How to turn a range into a live quote

Send the same brief to the operator: exact dates, nights, base, region, guest count, yacht type, crew requirement and route ambition. Ask for the yacht model and year, what happens on check-in and check-out, the payment milestones, cancellation ladder and the weather or substitution policy.

Compare total trip cost, not weekly yacht rate. A slightly higher base at a closer marina can be cheaper after transfers and fuel; a lower bareboat rate can be a poor fit if a skipper, chef or family-friendly layout is non-negotiable.

Greece charter price checklist

  • Compare identical dates, base, region, yacht type, year, nights and crew brief.
  • Ask which items are included, local, refundable or optional.
  • Confirm VAT treatment, skipper/crew fee, cleaning, fuel, moorings, provisioning and transfers.
  • Write down deposit amount, exclusions, payment milestones and cancellation dates.
  • Keep a weather and substitution clause in the written offer.

Frequently asked

What is the cheapest month for a Greece yacht charter in 2026?
November to March usually forms the low-season planning band, but inventory and weather are different from summer. Ask whether the yacht is available, whether the base operates normally and what winter services cost.
Does the weekly yacht price include a skipper or crew?
Not automatically. Sailing-boat listings often quote the yacht first and add a skipper; crewed yachts package service differently. Request a line-item offer and verify meals, cabin, gratuity and onboard-expense rules.
Is a catamaran more expensive than a monohull in Greece?
A comparable catamaran often has a higher weekly rate because of beam, space and demand, but its cabins and stability can change the cost per guest. Compare capacity, year, route, crew and all mandatory extras.
Which Greek region is easiest for a first charter?
The Saronic Gulf and parts of the Ionian are often easier to plan for shorter passages and sheltered options. The official Visit Greece guide describes the Pagasetic Gulf as sheltered and tranquil. Cyclades can be excellent with an experienced skipper and a flexible weather plan.
How much deposit or APA should I budget?
There is no single universal amount. The contract or operator should state the security deposit, exclusions, release timing and, for some crewed formats, any APA or onboard-expense budget. Treat both as separate cash-flow items until confirmed.
