The useful short answer
The charter rate is the starting point, not the final trip price. A quoted week can be attractive because it usually covers use of the yacht, but operational costs and optional services are commonly settled separately.
Ask for a written quote that separates mandatory charges, refundable amounts and estimated cruising costs. That makes two offers comparable and prevents a low headline price from becoming an expensive surprise.

Build the budget in five lines
Start with the weekly yacht price and add any compulsory charter-pack or end-cleaning charge. Then add the skipper if your licence or holiday style calls for one; the skipper normally needs a berth and meals as well.
Next, reserve a working-pot amount for fuel, water, port fees and food. The right amount depends on your itinerary: short island hops with time at anchor can cost differently from a route that uses marinas every evening. Finally, keep the security deposit separate from spending money because it is normally a temporary hold, subject to the contract and handover conditions.
What makes Turkey more or less expensive
High summer weeks and popular bases usually command higher yacht rates. A larger or newer catamaran, more cabins, air conditioning, a generator and water toys can also move the price substantially. Booking earlier usually gives a wider choice of layouts, not a guarantee of a particular price.
On the water, the route matters. Free anchoring may be possible where conditions and local rules allow, while town quays and private marinas have their own availability and fee structure. Do not plan an itinerary around a promise of free berthing; choose safe overnight options with your skipper.
Questions to ask before paying a deposit
- Which charges are mandatory and which are optional?
- Is the skipper fee included, and are meals for the skipper expected?
- What is the refundable deposit, and is a damage-waiver option offered?
- Does the quote include final cleaning, linen, outboard, Wi-Fi or transit-log fees?
- What route assumptions were used for fuel and marina estimates?
A simple way to compare two offers
Put every offer into the same structure: yacht rate, compulsory extras, crew, estimated operating pot, refundable deposit and cancellation terms. Compare dates, number of cabins, base and inventory before deciding which is cheaper.
For a group, divide the expected spend by the number of guests only after you have checked cabin allocation. A lower per-person figure is not useful if the yacht does not give the group the privacy, shade or equipment the trip requires.
