What this calculator answers

This guide is a planning calculator for a one-week yacht charter in the Balearic Islands. It separates the boat rate from the money that is commonly paid at the base or during the route.

Prices were checked on 20 August 2026. They are market indicators, not a guaranteed quote: the exact total depends on dates, boat, base, crew format and availability.

Seasonal yacht-rate snapshot

The current market average is about €627/day in low season and €1,541/day in high season. In Palma, sailboats average around €345/day low season and €771/day high season.

A skipper is commonly quoted at around €193/day in the Balearics; add it separately unless the offer says it is included.

Cost table: paid before or at booking

  • Yacht rate — fixed after the booking is confirmed
  • Charter pack / final cleaning / linen — often mandatory; check the fleet sheet
  • Security deposit or deposit-insurance product — reserve it separately from the holiday budget

Required and variable costs

Variable items usually include skipper, fuel, marina nights, water, shore power, provisioning, transfers and optional equipment. Do not assume that a low headline rate includes them.

A skipper can change both the budget and cabin plan. Confirm the daily fee, whether a cabin and meals are required, and whether transfers or gratuity are separate.

How to build a realistic total

Use this formula: yacht rate + mandatory base costs + skipper/crew + realistic route budget + contingency. Keep the contingency outside the deposit so the two numbers are not confused.

For a comparable offer, ask the same question of every operator: what is included, what is estimated, and what is payable directly at the marina? Put the answer in one shared table for the crew.

Before you pay

Request a dated written quote, cancellation terms, payment schedule, deposit-release process and contact at the base. Recheck prices if travel dates or the boat change.

Frequently asked

Are these prices guaranteed?
No. They are a dated market snapshot; the operator’s written quote for your dates is the price to rely on.
What is commonly excluded?
Fuel, marina nights, skipper/crew, provisioning, transfers and optional equipment are commonly separate. Verify every line.
Is the security deposit a cost?
Usually it is a refundable security hold, but it affects available card limit or cash. Treat it separately from the holiday budget.
When should prices be checked again?
Before any payment and whenever dates, boat, base or crew format changes.
